Doon Harrow and his friend Lina Mayfleet both 12 years old live in the City Of Ember with complete darkness surronding them with only 2 lights lighting the city. Lina's grandma is looking for a black box when a little girl named Papi finds the box with a letter in it and Papi starts tearing and putting the letter in her mouth. The letter was instructions to the way out of City of Ember. Will they find the way out . . .
